Astralian Tour 1972

16 February 1972 -  Perth - Subiaco Oval
19 February - Adelaide - Memorial Drive
20 February - Melbourne - Kooyong Tennis Courts
27 February - Sydney - RAS Showground
29 February - Brisbane - Festival Hall

This was Led Zeppelin's only Australian tour, although Jimmy Page had visited Australia in 1967 with The Yardbirds as part of a "Big Show" package with Roy Orbison and The Walker Brothers.

Portions of the Sydney Showground concert were filmed for GTK and at least some of this footage has survived. At least one Australian concert, the Kooyoong Tennis Centre show, was recorded and bootlegged:

1. Black Dog
2. Bron-Y-Aur Stomp
3. Going To California
4. Heartbreaker
5. Immigrant Song
6. Since I've Been Loving You
7. Stairway To Heaven
8. Tangerine
9. That's The Way

"Still the best concert I've been to. The band started with "Immigrant Song" and the showground exploded. Every able-bodied person jumped the barrier fence and stormed the front of stage. Things didn't settle till the acoustic set came on, which of course ended with "Stairway" which got the crowds adrenalin pumping again. From memory Radio 2SM played some of the concert later that afternoon. I have some slides and a poor quality 8mm movie (about 2 mins) which I dare not expose to air.

It was also my first exposure to the fine aroma of 'weed'. (no wonder they called it shit ! )"
