NOTES

TCS (Television City Sound) Studios was set up by Colin Stephenson of GTV-9 Melbourne as a multitrack studio. It was originally established to handle the pre-recording of music tracks for the popular TV variety show In Melbourne Tonight but over the next few years it became a prominent rock recording studio, mainly because of the staff, which included legandary engineer-producers John Sayers and John French.

After Armstrong's Studios TCS was in the early 70s probably the most popular rock studio in Melbourne. Sayers and French began to book more rock sessions during the studio's "down time", beginning around 1970, and many famous recordings were cut there between 1970 and 1975.
