RECORD LABELS

This section is dedicated to the history of the many record labels that operated in Australia and New Zealand from 1964-1975. This includes indigenous (i.e. Australian-owned) labels such as Festival and Mushroom, and local subsidaries of the major international labels such as EMI, CBS and RCA. Each label will have its own history and discography, but we will concentrate on recordings made in Australia by Australian performers. For more information about the many overseas recordings released or distributed in Australia by local or overseas labels, or for recordings outside the Milesago time-frame, we strongly recommend Globaldog Produtions, where you can find comprehensive 78rpm and 45rpm discographies for many labels that were available in Australia from the 1950s onwards.
